Custom alerts and data visualization let you quickly identify and prevent all kinds of network issues.
Hybrid cloud. Virtualization. Dependencies. AIOps.
Modern IT operations management is complex as it is, without throwing network monitoring solutions in the mix. The whole point of network monitoring software, if anything, is to streamline your workflow and make your life easier. Not to heap even more complexity onto your plate.
That’s why we’ve designed Paessler PRTG to be as user-friendly and intuitive as possible. From initial setup to ongoing monitoring and forward planning, PRTG Network Monitor gives you maximum observability and granularity with minimal effort. Because simplicity and ease of use should be a feature, not a bug.
With support for unlimited local, distributed, and virtual devices, preconfigured sensors compatible with AWS, Cisco, and other major brands, and the ability to automate alerts and other critical tasks, PRTG guarantees accurate, effective on-premises, hybrid, or cloud monitoring while keeping things user-friendly and resource-light.

Start monitoring out of the box, with minimal hair-tearing. Keep a close eye on critical IT operations. Make life easier for your IT team. Oh, and know exactly how much your bill will be. What more could you want from a network monitoring solution?
Get up and running in minutes, not hours or (worse) days. Auto-Discovery and 250+ preconfigured sensors mean PRTG works out of the box, with minimal manual intervention. But you also have the option of tweaking every aspect of your monitoring environment for surgical and tailor-made results.
On premises, cloud-based, or hybrid. Agentless or agent-based. Windows-based, but compatible with operating systems like Linux, Paessler's network monitoring tool can adapt to a wide range of network setups and requirements. Because no two organizations' IT infrastructures are the same.
All your critical network stats in one place. PRTG handles application performance monitoring, server monitoring, stack monitoring, cloud infrastructure monitoring, VMWare and other virtualized environments... it can even track temperature, humidity and other environmental metrics. How’s that for end-to-end monitoring?
PRTG’s sensor-based pricing means there are no surprises at the end of the billing cycle. Better still, all features are included in the base price. You won't get charged extra for advanced monitoring capabilities. And, because the first 100 sensors are free, forever, you can start at no cost and scale as your IT infrastructure becomes more complex.

PRTG is set up in a matter of minutes and can be used on a wide variety of mobile devices.
We also compared PRTG with other monitoring tools:
Zabbix is open-source software with a strong community support. But it requires lots of manual configuration work to install and set it up. You also need to install agents on the monitored systems.
The basic version of the open-source tool Nagios is free of charge. But most users spent many hours to set up and customize the tool. In case of problems, browsing through forums is often the only solution.
SolarWinds might be interesting for extremely complex network environments. But it also means you need to invest in higher costs for a platform made up of different modules and add-ons (that cost extra).
Domotz is a powerful all-in-one network monitoring solution. But since it requires agents, it can strain your resources and impact system performance, especially if you have a large, complex network.
Real-time notifications mean faster troubleshooting so that you can act before more serious issues occur.
Partnering with innovative IT vendors, Paessler unleashes synergies to create
new and additional benefits for joined customers.
Axis offers one of the most complete and reliable product portfolios, an expanded professional network, and comprehensive integration support for video management software.
PATLITE, as a manufacturer of visual and audible signaling devices, uses Paessler PRTG to ensure smooth plant operations.
Combining their tools to a powerful solution for advanced analysis and automation, KnowledgeRiver and Paessler enable IT teams to ensure best performance for their infrastructure and networks.

Choosing between Paessler PRTG and ScienceLogic depends on several factors, such as your specific network monitoring needs, budget, and technical resources available in your organization.
PRTG is ideal:
ScienceLogic might be your choice:
Any network monitoring solution will require some manual configuration if you're dealing with a huge number of devices or have complex monitoring needs.
That said, we're confident setting up PRTG is as quick and painless as setting up a monitoring environment can possibly be. Key in an IP address range, and PRTG automatically detects every network component within that range, assigns the right sensors, and starts gathering data. Job done. You can leave it as is or tweak the environment (and parameters) to suit your IT environment.
ScienceLogic also supports auto-discovery, but the interface isn't as intuitive and the monitoring environment requires significant configuration, especially if you want to use advanced functionalities.
ScienceLogic and PRTG are both highly flexible and scalable network monitoring software tools. But we'd argue that PRTG is the better monitoring platform, for three reasons:
PRTG uses sensor-based pricing, with all features and functionalities included. Each sensor monitors a specific variable, so our pricing model means you pay for the metrics you want to monitor, never to access specific features or capabilities. Your first 100 sensors are free, for life.
By contrast, ScienceLogic uses device-based pricing. In other words, you pay for every device included in your monitoring setup. The price per device also varies depending on the capabilities you want access to. They have three packages, each of which has two pricing tiers, one of which is more feature-rich (and more expensive) than the other. Some of the more expensive plans have a free trial, but there's no free version available.
In PRTG, “sensors” are the basic monitoring elements. One sensor usually monitors one measured value in your network, for example the traffic of a switch port, the CPU load of a server, or the free space on a disk drive. On average, you need about 5-10 sensors per device or one sensor per switch port.
Paessler conducted trials in over 600 IT departments worldwide to tune its network monitoring software closer to the needs of sysadmins. The result of the survey: over 95% of the participants would recommend PRTG – or already have.
